Picture Poll Overview

Picture Poll offers simple and accessible consultations on a range of subjects and provides users with immediate feedback on their responses.

Picture Poll was commissioned by Bristol City Council and the Local e-Democracy National Project as a consultation and engagement tool.

Councils have been piloting the tool since March 2006 with questions based on the 2006 BVPI surveys to provide public engagement for the process.

How it works

  • Users are presented with two questions and asked to rate them on a sliding scale, and to enter demographic and contact details.
  • After submitting their answers, they are taken to a chart plotting their response, the responses of other users and the responses of local figures (e.g. Lord Mayor, Chief Executive, local celebrities).
  • This enables them to be presented with immediate visual feedback on how their views fit with those of others in their community.

Accessibility & Compliance

  • WAI / W3C Level 2 (AA) accessible
  • e-GIF compliant
