Open Gov the Movie happened by accident - what turned out to be a nice accident. On a visit to Washington to see our partners NAPA back in November '09 I thought it would be fun to interview a few of the Open Gov people I'd read about and worked with over the last 12 months, and then share these interviews with government friends in the UK.
Having shot some the initial interview series I discovered that Open Gov was bigger and more impactful that I first thought and so decided to extend the "few interviews" into a short film, and launch the film to mark the achievements of the Open Gov initiative on its one year anniversary - 21st January 2010.
I know Open Gov the Movie's a bit of an OTT title for a documentary about government, however I think the boldness of the title suits the boldness of President Obama's Open Gov initiative. If it's OK for the President to be bold, then it's OK for me too ;)
