Political Base
This looks pretty interesting: http://www.politicalbase.com/.
They’ve got lots of the e-democracy bases covered — accountability, transparency, personlisation, conversation — with their features, all of which have been served up with a specific proposition (’see where contributions have come from’, ‘compare candidates on issues’ etc) and in a specific context (the US presidential elections).
It’ll be telling to see how, and how much, these features get used, and fascinating to consider what factors determine that usage: will it be existing interest in the topic, the design of the UI, the phrasing of the proposition, the ranking in Google, the community buzz or something else entirely that prompts people to use the site in the way they do?
