Connecting Bristol + Open Source Bids

I was asked this week to write these few lines about how Connecting Bristol helped our business:

“We’ve always taken time to involve ourselves in Bristol’s creative culture, especially with Watershed. Connecting Bristol was a natural thing for us to support: it’s directly related to what we do and it’s great for Bristol. We didn’t join Connecting Bristol to win business for ourselves, but it has helped us with developing our business. The most interesting thing we’ve learned from it is the Open Source bid process, which we’re now using to tender collaboratively with other groups for large projects in the public sector. We think this approach could lead to significantly better procurement for government and other large public bodies.”

We used an open source bid process with David Wilcox, Simon Berry and many other contributors to put in a bid for the Innovation Exchange. Our bid lost (oops) but the bid process itself was a finalist for a New Statesman New Media Award (hooray).
